How to advertise on Apple Maps.
Apple Maps Ads are new enough that most local businesses have never set one up. Here is the whole process, from claiming your place to reading the numbers that matter.
Claim and verify your business in Apple Business Connect, create an Apple Ads account, connect the verified place, choose the area you want to reach, and set a daily pay-per-tap budget. Your place then appears at the top of Apple Maps search results for nearby iPhone users in your category. New advertisers can qualify for a $150 Apple Maps Ads credit.
What you need before you start
A physical business location customers can visit or call
A claimed and verified place in Apple Business Connect
Accurate category, hours, and contact details on the place card
A payment method for the Apple Ads account
A way to track what happens after the tap — calls, bookings, or walk-ins
The full setup process
Claim and verify your place in Apple Business Connect
Apple Maps Ads run on a verified place. Claim yours at businessconnect.apple.com and complete verification before anything else. Full walkthrough in our Apple Business Connect guide.
Clean the place card before you spend
Category, hours, photos, and actions decide whether a paid tap becomes a visit. Fixing the listing first makes every dollar of ad spend go further.
Create your Apple Ads account
Set up billing and connect the verified place you want to promote. If you manage several locations, keep them organized so reporting stays readable.
Choose the locations and radius you want to reach
Think in drive time, not circles. A three-mile radius across a river is a different market than three miles down a main road.
Set a daily budget you are comfortable with
Apple Maps Ads are pay-per-tap with a daily cap. Start conservative, watch cost per tap for a week or two, and scale the hours and areas that produce visits.
Schedule around when customers actually search
Coffee peaks at 7am; bars peak Friday night; auto repair peaks weekday mornings. Dayparting is where most of the early efficiency comes from.
Measure taps, calls, and direction requests
Ignore impressions. Track direction requests, taps to call, booking or order taps, and cost per visit. Those are the numbers that map to revenue.
Review after 30 days and tighten
Cut the hours and areas that produce taps without visits, and push budget into the ones that do. Then repeat monthly.
